The Dietary Science Foundation’s board of directors has a new member: business leader, entrepreneur and trained civil engineer Ewa Meurk. She is passionate about strengthening dietary research and believes that more companies should support the science, as more effective dietary advice can prevent illness and costly sick leave.
Ewa Meurk has founded four companies, two of which have been listed on the stock exchange. A huge effort is required to build a company, and for Ewa Meurk a healthy diet has long been an essential part of performing at the highest level.
“When I changed my diet and cut out sugar I became much healthier. I don’t get as tired at work as I used to, and that has been important for good decision making and running the companies I founded,” she says.
Many elite athletes are particular about what they eat as it affects their performance. Ewa Meurk believes that people who want to perform well at work need to be equally careful. Today her company Elitista helps companies, management teams and private individuals set up strategies for greater health and efficiency.
“Many companies still have beverage machines and serve candy and cookies at meetings. Keeping employees healthy is one of the most important success factors for a company,” she says.
The Dietary Science Foundation is happy that Ewa Meurk wants to join us on the board. Her experience of building new businesses from scratch, her contacts and her passionate commitment to improving public health will be a great asset. Welcome to the Dietary Science Foundation, Ewa!
