Last spring the Dietary Science Foundation announced the availability of funding for studies aiming to counteract or treat childhood obesity. Our scientific advisory board has now decided to expand the criteria to allow more proposals to be submitted.
The Dietary Science Foundation’s scientific advisory board has reviewed the proposals submitted in connection with the announcement about available grants for research on diet and childhood obesity. All of the proposed projects were either already well financed, were closely linked to the food industry, or were of a design that the scientific advisory board found incompatible with the project reaching its goals.
The Dietary Science Foundation has therefore decided to make a new announcement. The criteria have been expanded so researchers can seek funding for projects where the goal is to evaluate the role of the diet in obesity, type 2 diabetes or obesity-related problems/diseases. The new announcement will be made within a few weeks.
